Matthew Hughes, Born in 1950, is the current member of the Legislative Assembly for the Electorate of Kalamunda after succeeding John Day in the 2017 WA State Election and being re-elected in the 2021 State Election. Formally a teacher and principal at John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School, Matthew has a community-first approach to his work and takes pride in creating positive change with suggestions and feedback directly from locals.
